Last September, Ipswich resident, Elizabeth Kilcoyne walked more than 400 miles on the Camino do Santiago in Spain, an ancient
path known as "The Way of Saint James" which Pilgrims have been walking for more than 1000 years. They initially
walked this way to be cured of their injuries and illnesses by St. James whose remains are buried in a tomb under the cathedral.
It took Elizabeth 33 days to finish, walking with a pack on her back and sleeping in hostels. She connected with other "pilgrims"
from 24 countries and made a couple of lasting friendships. She will share her experiences which she describes as "humbling,
physically, mentally, and spiritually" in a talk at the Ipswich Public Library on 25 North Main St. on Wednesday, February

The Seaside Garden Club is excited to offer: "Designing with Bamboo" presented by Christopher DeRosa of Rockport's
own New England Bamboo Company. Learn how to design with bamboo - a diverse and adaptable plant. There are 70 genera and 2400
known species. Bamboo adapts as well in sandy soil as it does in clay. Heights range from 2 inches to 100 feet. Leaves may
be green, variegated green and white or green and yellow. The New England Bamboo Company is the largest nursery specializing
in hardy bamboo on the East Coast. They specialize in safe shipment and propagation of rare and unusual bamboo and grasses.
Christopher DeRosa is a horticulturalist specializing in naturalistic gardens, design and hardy bamboo plants at his nursery
in Rockport. Chris has received numerous awards including the prestigious Henry David Thoreau Award, the design Critics Council
Award and the Burrage Gold Vase. He is a recent recipient of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society Gold Metal for outstanding

The Friends of the Flint Public Library will be having guest speaker, Tuskegee Airman James Sheppard speak at the Flint Public
Library on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 2pm. Mr. James Sheppard has served his country with valor and distinction at a time
when the U.S. military was racially segregated, reflecting society during World War II. The U.S. Army/Air Services conducted
an experiment that proved that when given the opportunity, African Americans can fly an aircraft and command and support combat
troops. Sergeant Sheppard was selected to be a part of this experimental group. He rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant and
was the crew chief in the 100th Fighter Squadron. Come hear him speak about the intense training he and his fellow airmen
underwent. Learn about the planes they flew and the battles they fought. See the photographs and other memorabilia that will
