Beverly is holding its annual Memorial Day Parade on Sunday, May 22nd at 2 pm. Come support your local veterans with the parade featuring Civil War reenactors, State Troopers on horses, Drum and Bugle Corps, USMC, and National Guard in attendance. The parade starts at the intersection of POND and CABOT, travels downtown to BROADWAY, and will end at ODELL park!
The Peabody Essex Museum is a staple of downtown Salem, MA. Join the Peabody Essex Museum for a full series of activities and events surrounding the PEM prize. Save the Dates of May 21st for the PEM Prize Celebration and Fundraiser, and May 22nd for the PEM Prize Festival. The inaugural PEM prize will honor artist Carlos Garaicoa. Drawing on his study of architecture, urbanism, and history, Garaicoa creates multidisciplinary artworks that range across a wide range of cultural topics. Born in Havana in 1967, Garaicoa lives and works in Havana and Madrid. The Peabody Essex Museum is located in Salem, MA at 161 Essex St.
Its farmers market season!! If you’re looking to get fresh veggies and local goods, visit one of the many local farmers’ markets. The Newburyport farmers market is held every Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm located at 50 Water St. in Newburyport, MA. Starting June 9th the Salem, MA farmers market will be held weekly on Thursdays from 3 pm to 7 pm.
Not in the North Shore area? The Salem New Hampshire Farmers Market is now open and held weekly on Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm at Tuscan Village featuring vendors such as Alfa Bakery, Earth Cut Pottery, Hurd Farm, Slippery Soap Company, and many more wonderful vendors.
The arts are such an important part of the North Shore. So if you’re looking to get active and make a difference, Hamilton-Wenham Friends of the Arts is Holding their 26th annual Melody Miles Fundraiser 5k on Saturday, May 28th to raise funds to support arts education in the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District. Their talented student performers are also returning to sing and play for you as you walk, run, or dance your way along the scenic local race route. Also coming up soon that I’m looking forward to is the Salem Arts Fest, celebrating the arts, culture, creativity, and community at the 14th annual Salem Arts Festival from June 3rd through 5th. A free and family-friendly event that features a variety of art, music, dance, and theater performances throughout downtown Salem.
